ADSL/ADSL2+ Rates & Services
(Effective May 1, 2008)

The following represents basic rate information for Internet Unlimited broadband access accounts and services. 

IUL's ADSL & ADSL2+ broadband services are available in Alberta and British Columbia, subject to facilities availability. 
Areas not yet serviced by ADSL2+ may be serviced by legacy ADSL. 

IUL can install ADSL on traditional phone lines provided by most local telephone providers.
Dry/bare ADSL services are also available for those customers who do not wish to maintain a phone line with their local telephone provider.

Personal Accounts | Business Accounts | Account Add-ons

IUL's ADSL & ADSL2+ personal account packages are designed for residential/home use.  Provided webspace is for personal/non-commercial use only.  Webmail access is included with all e-mail accounts.  Server operation is not permitted on personal accounts.  Please read system requirements and service terms below for additional details applying to all broadband packages.

• ** Dry-ADSL (sometimes called bare ADSL) service is available for most customers in ADSL coverage areas who do not wish to maintain a phone line with their telephone company, additional monthly service charges and additional installation charges apply to all Dry-ADSL accounts.

System Requirements & Service Terms

• IUL's ADSL2+ broadband services are not yet available in all ADSL service areas.  Areas not yet serviced by ADSL2+ may be serviced by legacy ADSL.
• IUL's ADSL and ADSL2+ broadband services are available in Alberta and British Columbia, subject to local facilities availability.
• The speed of ADSL service is dependant on the physical length of the wire from your home to the telephone company's switching equipment, the quality of that line, and other factors.  The speeds quoted above are the maximum users can expect to receive for the plan they have selected. 
• An ADSL or ADSL2+ capable modem or router (depending on your service type) is required for connection, these are available for purchase from IUL.
• ADSL line filters are required for each phone, fax machine or other phone device that connects to the same phone line as your ADSL modem, these are available for purchase from IUL.
• It is recommended that you connect your ADSL2+ modem to your PC via the Ethernet network port on your computer.  Some modems may also have the option to connect via your USB port.
• ADSL service is compatible with most monitored home alarm systems.  However, if you have a home alarm system that connects to the monitoring station using the same phone line as your ADSL, you should contact your alarm monitoring company to determine whether any special provisions to your alarm panel are required.  For peace of mind you should also have the alarm company test communication with your alarm panel after your ADSL connection is up and running to ensure proper operation.  IUL is not responsible for any alarm transmission failures that might occur, for any reason, after the addition of the ADSL signal to your phone line.
• Be aware that ADSL service does not automatically move with your phone line.  If you are moving you must notify us of your new address and move date as soon as you have a move date for your phone service booked with your provider so that we can book the move of your ADSL service.  We will endeavor to arrange a smooth transition, but since the actual move is done by the telephone company they have the ultimate control of when the move is completed.  There is a $40 service charge incurred for all ADSL moves. 
• You may upgrade to a faster service at any time during your contract with no service charge, however downgrades in service will incur a $50 service charge.
• If you wish to cancel your ADSL service, you must notify us in writing no less than 30 days prior to the desired cancellation date.
• All terminations of service, for any reason, within the first year of service are subject to a $100 cancellation fee.
• All account packages will automatically renewed for the same term and with the same billing method as the original contract unless we receive written instructions to the contrary 30 days prior to the expiration date of your original contract.
